Discover: You CAN Blog!
I hear it all too often…I can’t write… I can’t blog. I have nothing to say! No one will be interested! The one I hear it from the most???? Myself! That’s right. Me Myself and I struggle to believe ANYONE may be at all interested in what I have to say. Then I watched, Julie and Julia! Though Julie happened to be a writer to start, which i certainly can’t tell from her blog…and yes she does use profanity I’m not thrilled about, she , as well as the rest of us future bloggers out there, came up with a MARVELOUS idea and went with it. People were interested. People RESPONDED! The rest is History!
I’m just a "HOMESCHOOL MOM!" A PW… You’ve heard of PKs??? Well, I’m a PW and ministry DOES keep us busy. I struggle with the rest of the women in the world to Stay on Top of Laundry… Cleaning…Baking…Cooking…Birthdays…Holidays… Algebra… ah yes…. that Algebra 1/2 I took in the 10th grade no longer suffices when it comes to 6th grade math. HAD I ONLY KNOWN!
And then there’s History! World War I was in WHAT CENTURY? The French Revolution means "WHAT" to me today? Hitler, Mousollini, Mao Tse Dung… Was that Russia? Germany? China? Not until I GREW UP ( I’m not going to tell you when THAT happened) did I realize the importance of KNOWING and APPLYING WHAT I KNOW, to the world around me, and what a blessing it is to come to that knowledge, even at the ripe old age of 53! (okay so I DID tell you)
I’ve discovered that my brain CAN Memorize. My husband taught me a system of pegs and pictures that makes memorizing quite doable! Now… to recall it a year later is still something I’m desperately trying to master.
I’ve discovered boys grow up. One of mine ( we have 9 altogether) is adopted from Russia. He happens to turn 12 years old today. We’ve had him for 10 years! We traveled the Siberian Railway 18 hours to adopt him and bring him home. I’ll never forget the video I saw of him with his curly head of hair at age 2…. and WHAT were those women saying on that video?? Artoochick? What the heck is an artoochick?
I’ve discovered being a STEP MOM is not as easy as I had hoped. I had one myself, so what makes me think I’d have it any easier? I somehow managed to make her life miserable for the 6 years we lived together. But why I thought my stint would be less chaotic? I believe that’s called Naïveté. I put mine through the paces, why shouldn’t mine do the same? And well he does. My daughter?? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said, in the good sense of the term, "I Don’t Deserve Her". What a blessing she has been to me. She makes being a step mom a BREEZE! Thank you SWEETHEART!
I’ve discovered you CAN Survive Divorce! Though the ex spouse may not agree, the grass…in this instance… is definitely GREENER.Maybe a bit less GREEN when it comes to cash in the wallet, but a greener sense of graciousness I had not known before. While I have to say, I still love/hate my ex ( in a sick sort of way… 25 years doesn’t just get erased with the signature on a divorce decree), I’d not go back. Move forward and learn from mistakes…horrid mistakes. And do more than just survive. LIVE.
Enough discovering for today! I’ve got WORK to do… a cake to bake…a "Camera" to wrap for his 12th birthday gift… internet marketing for my husband… and SNOW to shovel. 10 inches today… Gotta love Wisconsin!
